HOPE BEYOND HERE
“Behold, I shew you a mystery; we shall not all sleep, but we shall be changed, in a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trump: for the trumpet shall sound, and the dead shall be raised incorruptible, and we shall be changed.” (I Cor. 15:50-51).
It is very evident that the world we live, which by all indications exclude Jesus Christ is a FAILING world, and with FAILING system: economic system, social and political system, family system, religion system, moral system are all failing. There is no HOPE here at all! For those who hold tenaciously, the world and its offers, you are holding on HOPELESSNESS and on NOTHING. King Solomon saw it from afar and he wrote, “Vanity of vanities; all is vanity.” (Eccl. 1:2)
Friends, the only HOPE left to us is the HOPE BEYOND HERE; the HOPE that lies in the FUTURE, anchored on CHRIST JESUS’s return.
It would have been a perfect HOPELESSNESS if Jesus Christ was not born to us; a complete HOPELESSNESS if He did not go to the cross and die for us; an absolute HOPELESSNESS if He did not resurrect from the dead; a certified HOPELESSNESS if He did not ascend to the heavens; and a hopeless HOPELESSNESS if there were no divine plans for Him to come back for us, to take us with Himself.
However, Christ Jesus was born to us, He died and was buried, He resurrected on the third day, and ascended into the heavens after 40 days stay. On Mount Olive, the message of the two men on white apparel to the disciples was a message of HOPE BEYOND HERE (Acts1:8). CHRIST IS COMING AGAIN!
WHY IS HE COMING?
He is coming to introduce the earth’s destiny as the Bible declares, the heavens and the earth shall
perish, and as vesture shall be folded up. They
shall be dissolved (Heb.1:10-12; Isa. 34:4). He is coming because of the purpose of His first coming, to “seek and to save” those who were lost. [Luke 19:10; Matt. 18:11]. He is coming to fulfill His promise “Let not your heart be troubled...In my Father’s house are many mansions;... I will come again and receive you to myself; that where I am, there you may be also” [John 14:1-4]. He is coming to begin the process of separating the wheat from tares, and the sheep from the goats [Matt. 13:36-43; 25:31-46].
HOW IS HE COMING?
He is coming in the clouds with great power and glory, first to His own; the dead and the living shall be ‘snatched away’ [Mark 13:26-27; Matt. 1:27; I Thess. 4:16; II Thess. 1:7, 10; Rev. 1:7; Acts 1:11; Dan. 7:13, 14]. He will come in a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trump. [I Cor. 15:52; Matt. 24:31]. His first coming was sorrowful, but this second coming will be glamourously heralded.
FOR WHOM IS HE COMING?
He is coming for those who accept and live as though He is the Son of God! [I John 5:1-5]. He is coming for those Who OVERCOME! [Rev. 3:20-22]. He is coming for Those who do the will of God, our Father in Heaven! [Matt. 7:21-22]. He is coming for Those who accept God’s Gift of Grace! [Eph. 2:4-9].
He is coming for those who have observed the greatest commandment! [Matt. 25:34-40]. Are you one of those?
WHEN IS HE COMING?
This is the most dangerous aspect of His coming; the timing. The day and hour is completely unknown to any one, it is going to be sudden [Mark 13:32-37], unexpectedly, like a thief in the night. [I Thess. 5:2].
Beloved, now that it is obvious that Christ Jesus is coming again. Now that we know that His coming will bring joy to the saints and sorrow to sinners, both the dead and the living. Now that we are not sure when His coming would be, to sinners repentance remains the last option. One MUST make Jesus both Lord and Saviour to be part of this great departure. And to believers in Christ, THERE IS HOPE BEYOND THIS HOPELESS PLANE. Soonest our tears shall be wiped away! Just remain faithfully steadfast! God Bless.
